What is a Syllabus?
At the beginning of each new course, typically on the first day, the instructor will hand out a Course Syllabus.
The syllabus typically details things such as:
- The number, type and dates of major assignments, tests, and quizzes
- How much each test/assignment counts toward the final grade
- Attendance policies
- Required readings materials
- Instructor’s office hours
- Other general expectations for the course.
You should keep each syllabus in a safe place so that you can refer back to it as the semester progresses.
