Academic Affairs

At Muskingum University, we educate the whole student for the whole world.

Through innovative approaches to holistic learning, Muskingum University’s curriculum and applied experiences give our graduates the skills and knowledge they need to lead vocationally productive, personally satisfying, and socially responsible lives. The Muskingum Experience builds learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom that help students to find their meaning and purpose. Grounded in the liberal arts tradition, a Muskingum education is provided in the context of a caring community which inspires curiosity and encourages individual fulfillment.  Students master skills in effective communication, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and understanding of diverse cultural and historical perspectives through the general education curriculum and academic majors. Career-connected classroom experiences and experiential learning build widely applicable skills of adaptation, self-reflection, teamwork, and leadership - skills that are valued on the job, in graduate school, and as members of communities close to home or around the world. The Muskingum Experience is our pledge of success for every student.

The student journey through the Muskingum Experience is based in a commitment to inclusive excellence and is delivered through excellent teaching, integrative advising, and ample opportunities for experiential learning through internships, faculty-student research and fieldwork, international study,  civic engagement, and campus and community leadership.

The Provost’s Office is responsible for the design and delivery of the undergraduate academic program and works collaboratively with the Division of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
