Graduate Teacher Education Enrollment Specialist

Muskingum University invites applications for the position of Graduate Teacher Education Enrollment Specialist. The Enrollment Specialist serves as the first contact for prospective students interested in educator preparation and licensure programs. The Specialist provides information, supports engagement throughout the early enrollment process, and connects prospective students with program advisors and directors while ensuring accurate communication and follow-up.  This is a part-time position with expectations of 25 hours of work per week.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide rapid, informed, and professional responses to requests for information (RFls) and general inquiries about our educator preparation programs
  • Engage with current educators adding credentials and career-changers pursuing initial licensure, through email, phone, and virtual meetings, tailoring conversations to each group's unique questions, concerns, and motivations
  • Collect initial information from prospective students and ensure inquiries are routed appropriately to program advisors and directors
  • Track and log inquiry and outreach activity accurately in relevant systems
  • Follow up consistently with prospective students to maintain engagement through the early stages of the enrollment process
  • Collaborate with the program advisor and director to ensure smooth hand off of qualified prospective students
  • Stay current on program requirements, policies, and updates to provide accurate information at all times

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Background in K-12 education, educator preparation, or a closely related field; e.g., classroom teacher, adjunct instructor, instructional coach, school or district administrator
  • Familiarity with the educator preparation landscape in Ohio, including licensure pathways, program types, and the professional needs of both working teachers and career-changers entering the field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect quickly and authentically with prospective students from varied professional backgrounds
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage follow-up independently in a part­time, flexible schedule
  • Comfort with virtual communication tools (email, phone, video conferencing)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in tracking and documentation

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Experience in graduate admissions, student services, or academic advising
  • Experience with CRM systems or student information systems
  • Existing professional networks within Ohio's K-12 or higher education communities
  • Graduate degree preferred, particularly in education or a related field
