Mailroom and Copy Center Coordinator

Muskingum University invites applications for its Mailroom and Copy Center Coordinator.  This position coordinates the daily functions of the Mailroom and Copy Center, supervises student workers and supports campus-wide mail, parcel, and copy services. Promotes efficient workflows, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service across University departments. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage mailroom and copy center operations. 
  • Perform copy and printing services for various departments across campus.
  • Coordinate necessary equipment maintenance services with contractors, assist with these services on area machines as needed.
  • Supervise processing of mailing services while working with students who have primary responsibility for completing these tasks on a daily basis. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of services, rates, and compliance with postal regulations. 
  • Manage and maintain billing charge back system and send cost report to users and Business Office.
  • Prepare monthly report of copy and print charges in the Copy Center. 
  • Assist in coordination of other services, including purchases of supplies, machines, and maintenance agreements.
  • Assist in maintenance of Copy Center web page, updating information and links as needed. 
  • Assist with the design and printing of assorted pamphlets, programs, mailings, and other published materials.  
  • Supervise student employees within strict hourly guidelines.
  • Coordinate parcel services with other vendors (FedEx, UPS, USPS, Amazon, Walmart, etc.)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Knowledge of operation for PC and related desktop programs (MS Office, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, ChatGPT, QuarkXPress and related plug-ins) 
  • Knowledge of copier operations and related equipment 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Reviews, understands and enforces copyright laws when copying and printing material 
  • Coordinate with departments their mail collection and distribution every business day
