Graduate Assistant for Cultural Engagement and Inclusion

Muskingum University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant in its Office of Cultural Engagement and Inclusion.  This position will provide support for the CEI Office while acquiring transferrable skills in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This position is for a 2-year term, subject to successful evaluation, with the expectation of 20 hours of work per week beginning August 1 and ending May 31.  The stipend for this position will be divided and paid equally over the course of the entire year, and campus housing will be provided.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and implementation of CEI programming and training.
  • Assist in advising student organizations associated with the CEI Office as needed.
  • Promote CEI programs through the CEI Office social media.
  • Maintain an engaging and welcoming space in the CEI lounge.
  • Assist with trips and transportation as needed.
  • Represent the CEI Office at various campus events and recruitment functions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Acceptance into a Muskingum University Graduate Program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence.
  • Ability to build relationships with students with a variety of identities and life experiences.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the University’s auto liability carrier, and be willing to become certified to drive transportation vans.
  • Willingness to reside in campus housing.
