Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Biochemistry)

The ACS-accredited Department of Chemistry at Muskingum University invites applications for a non-tenure track position in biochemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2026.  Applicants with expertise in all areas of biochemistry are encouraged to apply.  We seek an individual who embraces undergraduate teaching and will be pivotal in building a vibrant biochemistry research program to provide students with experiential learning opportunities.  The successful candidate will be effective in teaching and mentoring a wide range of learners, including non-science majors, those interested in the health sciences and nutrition, and those seeking admission to medical professional schools and graduate study in chemistry.

Teaching responsibilities will include general chemistry, biochemistry, chemistry courses for non-science majors, and upper-level courses in the candidate's areas of expertise.  A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, capacity for impactful research, and a commitment to service to the University.
