Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing
The Department of Nursing at Muskingum University invites applications for a renewable-term faculty position in Nursing at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning in the summer semester of 2026. The new faculty member will join a dedicated team as a core member of our highly ranked traditional BSN prelicensure program and may also teach selected courses in our Accelerated BSN (ABSN) and online RN-to-BSN program tracks.
The successful candidate must possess current expertise or certification in Psych/Mental Health nursing. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with practice experience or certification in one or more of the following specialty areas: obstetrics, newborn care, pediatrics, or medical-surgical nursing. Teaching experience in either academic nursing or nursing staff development is preferred.
All faculty members at Muskingum are expected to provide excellent student advising and facilitate experiential learning through community connections. Candidates must have a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing (MS or MSN). A PhD in Nursing or a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) is preferred. A PhD in a related field may also be considered, depending on professional nurse credentialing and practice expertise. Appointment to this position is conditional upon the successful completion of a BCI/FBI background check and drug screening through the University's designated agencies.
