Financial Aid

Education Department Scholarships

The Muskingum University Education Scholarship opportunity is available to incoming first-year students who are interested in a career in teacher education.

Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $1,500 per year.

Financial need is not a requirement, though these awards are factored into a comprehensive financial aid package for students demonstrating need. Scholarship applications received after a need-based financial aid package is sent will be limited to a maximum of $500. Upon confirmation of the award and the student’s eligibility, this scholarship is credited directly to the student’s account each semester.

Students must major in one of the education licensure areas listed below and maintain both overall and major grade-point averages of at least a 3.0 (cumulative) to renew the scholarships from year to year. Students who indicate interest in specific educational areas may qualify for a Federal TEACH Grant or the Appalachian Teaching through Muskingum (ATTM) Scholarship. Additional information will be mailed to you if we determine you may qualify.

To be considered for the Education Scholarship, a student must:

  • Be admitted to Muskingum University as a full-time student.
  • Show evidence of outstanding scholarship in terms of academic grades, class standing and ACT/SAT examination(s).
  • Submit the Education Scholarship Application Form (below).

Priority deadline is April 1.
