Summer Internships and Study Away

  • Muskingum students participate in summer and semester long internships. 
    • Internship course (IDIS 300). Developed to educate students about internships and how they can be a career catalyst.

    • Career Field Experience (IDIS 250). Gives students the opportunity to work at a business or organization to give early insight into the professional realm in a hands-on setting.

  • Many students choose to study abroad during spring break, May term, and during the semester. Study away is a high impact experience that may involve an internship and/or class research.

Internship & Job Search

  • Drop-in the Impact Center weekdays between 12 pm and 3 pm for assistance with internship and job searching. No need for an appointment!
  • Outside drop-in hours, students may schedule an appointment with a career advisor for professional job search assistance.

Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities-IT College Intern (Local)

Looking for an IT College Intern to work alongside their IT Infrastructure Specialist at the Cambridge Developmental Center in Cambridge, OH. This is an ongoing part-time, fully on-site paid internship available to students currently enrolled in a degree program related to information technology (e.g., computer science). Integrate- Neurodivergent Software Engineering Intern

This internship requires the candidate to work in person for 40 hours a week. The priority deadline to apply is Friday, February 14. Department of Defense-Defense Logistics Agency- Student Contracting Trainee

Ohio Legislative Service Commission

The LSC Legislative Fellowship Program is a paid, full-time, 13-month professional experience that offers college graduates an unparalleled opportunity to work with the Ohio General Assembly. Applicants to the program must have at least a bachelor’s degree by September of 2025. All academic backgrounds are welcome and prior political experience is not required. Successful applicants have an interest in public service and excellent communication skills, and most have a strong academic record. Fellows receive full state of Ohio employee benefits and are paid approximately $44,616 per year. Applications for the legislative fellowship are due by April 11, 2025.

Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is looking for a college video editor intern that could assist potential applicants (juniors and seniors that goes to high school in Muskingum County) for our video scholarship. The intern would have to meet with the potential applications at least once throughout the video making process to aid the individual in anything they may need media wise. The scholarship is starting Feb. 1st and ends March 31st, so it will be a short internship with great opportunities!
