International Programs

International Student Orientation

There are two different International Orientations.

For new students coming for the Fall Semester, they should attend the August Orientation. For new students coming in the Spring Semester, they should attend the January Orientation.

For new students, it is strongly encouraged that you attend orientation, look through the Incoming Student Page and the International Student Handbook, and ask any questions that you have!

Schedules may change! Check your welcome folder that you receive with your residence keys for the most updated schedule.

International Student Orientation Schedule

New International Student Orientation will be in mid to late August and there is a $100 fee for this program. Four-year degree seeking students (those on an F-1 student visa) are required to attend and pay the fee. Exchange students (those on a J-1 student visa) can choose to attend and pay the fee or choose to arrive on August 21st. They are strongly encouraged to attend orientation.

All students participating in the New International Student Orientation that have received a COVID vaccine should arrive at the Port Columbus International Airport (code CMH) on either August 11th or August 12th and email Valerie Smith (vsmith@muskingum.edu) by July 30th to tell her of the arrival information so a Muskingum University van can meet you at the airport.

New international students that have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 will need to quarantine upon arrival to campus and these students should arrive on August 9th.  We will have a specially designed van to transport you from the airport to a campus quarantine location.  Due to special housing and meal accommodations, you will need to email Valerie Smith by July 23rd with your August 9th arrival information.
