Communication Studies Success Stories

Kaylee Lukacena '14

Senior Kaylee Lukacena of Toronto, Ohio, majored in Communication. She chose MU because “I had a great experience during my scholarship day. The campus was wonderful and I made a great connection with the professor who interviewed me and is my current advisor, Professor Gene Alesandrini.”

Kaylee stayed busy on campus as a DJ and part of the management team for for WMCO, Muskingum’s radio station. She was also an on-air talent for Orbit Television and a staff reporter for The Black & Magenta. She was social chair of the F.A.D. sorority and a member of ODK, the junior-senior honorary, and the American Association of University Women. Kaylee also worked in the Alumni Office and as a tour guide.

Of her experience as a Muskie, Kaylee says, “I never expected to receive such a well-rounded education that has helped me discover a passion I never would have pursued otherwise, my love of health and communication, and my dream to be a professor. I am thankful for the connections I made with faculty, staff, and other students. Each person I came in contact with helped me become the strong, hard-working individual I am today.
