Muskingum University’s Annual John Glenn Distinguished Lecture brought noted volcano scientist Dr. Erik Klemetti to campus. On Oct. 3, Dr. Klemetti presented “Before, During, and After the Eruption: Using Mineral Ages and Compositions to Read the History of Magmatism in Cascade Range (USA) Volcanoes.” His talk featured what is known about the processes that prepare volcanoes to erupt or not erupt.
The Muskingum University Theatre Department performed “Arden of Feversham: A Classic, With Puppets” on Oct. 28-29 at Caldwell Hall’s Thompson Theatre.

Muskingum welcomes the holiday season with the annual lighting of its campus on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. on the steps of the John Glenn Gym.
Muskingum University’s Fellows Program is a four-year experience, providing students with unique opportunities and valuable hands-on experiences, allowing them to make a positive impact in the community, nation, and world.
Students apply to enter one of four Fellows cohorts upon their admission to the University: the John and Annie Glenn Public Service Fellows, the Otto and Fran Walter Humanitarian Fellows, the International Fellows, and the David and Karin Kratoville Innovation Fellows.

Muskingum University graduate Amanda Tedrick ’23 created an Archival Display “John Glenn: World War II and Beyond,” which is on display in the University Library through the end of November.
Jacquelyn Lenox Tuxill ’63 has authored “Whispers From the Valley of the Yak: A Memoir of Coming Full Circle.”
Jackie was born in Chengdu, China during World War II to medical missionaries. Her family fled to India and later settled in West Viginia. After initially rejecting her connection to her birth country, a return trip to China with her parents in 1980 led to life-changing revelations.
Muskingum University’s Department of Music announced that it will launch the inaugural Muskingum Valley Youth Wind Ensemble (MVYWE) in January 2024.
The MVYWE will provide talented high school wind players and percussionists with opportunities to further develop their musical skills.
The high school students will work with Muskingum faculty and students in two rehearsals each month, held on Sunday afternoons starting Jan. 7, 2024.
On April 28, 2024, the MVYWE will perform in a shared concert with Muskingum bands in Brown Chapel.
