Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The ACS-accredited Department of Chemistry at Muskingum University invites applications for a one-year position in chemistry, with preferred expertise in biochemistry, at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate will be effective in teaching and mentoring a wide range of learners, including non-science majors, those interested in the health sciences and nutrition, and those seeking admission to medical professional schools and graduate study in chemistry.

Teaching responsibilities will include general chemistry and chemistry courses for non-science majors. A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry is preferred; ABD and Masters-prepared candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

Muskingum is a comprehensive university with a strong liberal arts tradition located just seventy miles east of Columbus, Ohio, in the village of New Concord.  The university’s total undergraduate, graduate, and adult-learner student population is approximately 2,500.
