Assistant Professor of Sociology
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SOCIOLOGY
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Muskingum University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor for a Spring 2021 appointment. The department is seeking diverse candidates for this position who are committed to collaboration and will be ready to create synergies within our campus and the surrounding community. While the area of specialization is open, the position requires the ability to teach courses in race, class, and social justice as well as introductory level sociology.
A doctorate in Sociology is required. ABD candidates will be considered, with the understanding that the terminal degree must be completed within one year and rank will be instructor until the completion of the doctoral degree. The successful candidate will have experience in undergraduate teaching, a passion for student development and advising, and a strong interest in building experiential learning opportunities. Professional activity, including publication, is required for tenure and promotion.
