Assistant or Associate Professor of Sports Administration

Muskingum University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Sports Administration at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning in fall 2024. The successful candidate will join the Economics, Accounting, and Business Department faculty to lead our rapidly growing sports administration program. The University recently opened a state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Complex, providing extraordinary opportunities for student participation in facility management, programming, and community partnerships. Key collaborative partners will be the division of athletics and related programs in communications, exercise science, and health and fitness. Coursework will include sports governance, facility management, and ethical issues in sport. Specialized knowledge in data analytics is also desirable.

A Doctorate in Sports Administration or related field is preferred; ABD candidates within a year of completion and those with a Master’s degree and significant related work experience will be considered. The successful candidate will have experience in undergraduate teaching and a passion for student development, advising, and experiential learning. Strong collaborative skills are essential for the position, as is the capacity to build partnerships for learning in the broader southeastern Ohio athletic community.

Muskingum is a comprehensive university with a strong liberal arts tradition located just seventy miles east of Columbus, Ohio, in the village of New Concord. Founded in 1837, the university's total undergraduate, graduate, and adult-learner student population is approximately 2500.
