Accompanist

Muskingum University invites applications for an Accompanist. This position will be responsible for collaborating with the music faculty, guest performers, and students to support rehearsal and music performances.  Piano accompanying for large ensembles and for assigned students will be assigned by the department chair.  This is a part-time, one-year appointment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide accompaniment for Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in rehearsals and performances.
  • Provide accompaniment for assigned students for lessons, juries, performance seminars, recitals, and other performances.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in music.
  • Experience performing as a collaborative pianist.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and performance tours.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work an average of 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
