Muskingum University Ranks 2nd Among Ohio Schools in U.S. News & World Report University Rankings for Second Year in a Row

Muskingum University continues to be a top performer among Ohio universities in the U.S. News & World Report 2023 rankings for the Regional Midwest. The University ranked 2nd among Ohio universities in Best Value Schools and 2nd among Ohio universities in Top Performers in Social Mobility. This is the second year the University has ranked second among Ohio universities in both these categories.

Muskingum Reignites Connection with India’s Prestigious Doon School

Muskingum University and The Doon School, a prestigious Indian boarding school for 12-18 year old boys, have a long history of connections, with more than 50 Doon alumni attending and graduating from Muskingum since 1980.

For Doon and Muskingum alumnus Ashwan Khanna ‘84, “My experience at Muskingum had a tremendous impact upon my life and the same is true for many of my friends and colleagues.”  The Managing Partner of Explorer Capital, LLC, Ashwan earned his B.A. in Economics and Accounting and is also a Certified Public Account.

Art Student Leaves Her Mark in the Bait Shop

Natilie Hill, a senior art major from Zanesville, put her artistic stamp on Muskingum University’s campus over the summer. She painted a three-wall mural in the former mailroom that was part of the recent Bait Shop renovation. Now students have a bright, custom backdrop as they eat, study, and socialize.

Dr. Amanda Adams: Helping Students Gain Crucial Skills

Muskingum University Associate Professor of English Dr. Amanda Adams enjoys teaching a variety of courses which attract English majors as well as students from disciplines across the campus.

“I’m so proud to be a member of Muskingum’s English Department, where we help students build their skills in communication, critical and agile thinking, and other areas that are crucial to their future career success,” she said. “We help students gain cultural competency – the ability to understand the world around them and speak about it in knowledgeable ways.”

Taylor Shimek ’23 Receives Ohio EPA Scholarship

Muskingum University senior Taylor Shimek ’23 has received a prestigious Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Scholarship.

The highly competitive, merit-based scholarship is awarded to Ohio college undergraduates who demonstrate outstanding knowledge and commitment to careers in environmental science or environmental engineering.  For 2022, nine students were selected to receive scholarships, which are funded through the Ohio EPA’s Environmental Education Fund.
