Muskingum recognized for top nursing program

Muskingum University has been recognized by RegisteredNursing.org in their annual rankings as a top nursing school in Ohio. Of the 89 Registered Nurse (R.N.) programs in the state of Ohio, Muskingum ranked third amongst institutions with traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) programs and 10th overall.

Experienced administrator selected to lead athletics

Former student-athlete, coach and experienced athletic administrator, Steve Brockelbank, has been selected to lead Muskingum University’s Athletic Department as Vice President and Athletic Director, the University announced Jan. 23, 2018. He will assume the post April 1.

Students honor Martin Luther King, Jr. through service

More than 100 Muskingum University students along with faculty and staff honored the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. by serving others Jan. 16. As part of a national Day of Service, students spent time organizing area food banks, playing games with residents of an area nursing home and supporting the services of area agencies and non-profit organizations.

Adapted toys delivered to Starlight School

Students participating in the toy adaptation project saw the results of their efforts to brighten the lives of children with disabilities when they visited Starlight School and delivered more than 10 toys. First-year engineering students, along with upperclassmen Staci Wilson and Warren Wilson, spent the fall semester adapting toys accessible for children with barriers to motor, tactile, or movement skills. The program began with Staci and Warren’s summer 2017 Muskie Fellows project under the direction of Professor Soto-Caban.

Dr. Baker named a fellow by gerontology association

Muskingum University Associate Professor of Psychology Dr. Hallie Baker has been selected as a Fellow of the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE). This coveted national honor recognizes outstanding leadership in gerontology and geriatric education. Gerontology is the study of aging and the issues facing the older population.
