New Concord, OH (June 18, 2025) — Muskingum University President Susan S. Hasseler has announced her plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2025-26 academic year, closing a decade of transformative leadership marked by institutional growth, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to student access and success.

Muskingum University is pleased to announce the appointment of Molly Dunn as the inaugural Associate Vice President for External Engagement, a newly created leadership position in the Office of the President. This strategic role reflects Muskingum’s bold commitment to advancing initiatives that position the University as a catalyst for regional workforce development, educational access, and economic growth.

On May 16, President Susan Hasseler participated in the USC Speak Your Mind Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for mental health and encourage open conversations about mental wellbeing.

Magnus did the honors, and the challenge was shared on the University’s Instagram account.

“This challenge is focusing on mental health, and I cannot think of a better reason to get soaked,” President Hasseler said.

Founded in 2006, the residential Summer High School Music Theatre CAMP is celebrating its 20^th anniversary this year. The CAMP, which runs from June 22-28, will culminate in a free public performance on Saturday, June 28 at 2:30 p.m. in Caldwell Hall. 

Carol Wilcox-Jones, CAMP director, designed and mounted the first CAMP in 2006. That year and each year thereafter, it has been recognized for excellence with a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.
