A message from President Hasseler Regarding the Spring Semester
Dear Muskies,
Dear Muskies,
Muskingum University will celebrate Black History Month on campus in the month of February. Led by the office of Diversity, Access & Inclusion (DAI), Muskingum will honor The Black Family, and focus on Representation, Identity and Diversity.
Muskingum will host the university’s annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during an extended celebration from January 18-22, 2021. The Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Jan. 18, 2021, will mark the 26th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Led by the office of Diversity, Access & Inclusion (DAI), Muskingum will honor Dr. King in celebration of The Voices of Social Justice.
In late October when Tim Sarsany, interim assistant professor of Music and director of Choral Activities, was approached by the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra (NGSO) to potentially have students participate in the group’s virtual production of the “Messiah,” he jumped at the chance. “It was the perfect way to end the semester.”
For more details, see the Q&A with Professor Sarsany below:
1.Tell us a bit more about NGSO’s Virtual “Messiah” production and who was involved?
Muskingum University today announced, in partnership with Zane State College, it will receive $200,000 in Capital Bill Funding to support the Health & Wellness Complex through the recently passed Senate Bill 310.
