Nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and beyond. Over the past six years, Muskingum University’s Nursing program had a 99.3 percent average pass rate for first time test takers on the NCLEX.
“We are honored to receive the #1 rankings in Ohio,” said Director and Chair of the Nursing Program Cynthia Wilkins. “I am so privileged to work with our exceptional and committed faculty who strive to develop our nursing students’ clinical skills that will prepare them for practice as a professional nurse.”
RN Careers' mission is to “...help educate the best nurses in the country, and we do this by providing accurate and meaningful information about earning a nursing degree.” They use NCLEX first-time exam pass rates, program accreditation, number of students taking the exam, and other key data to create their rankings. Muskingum received a grade of 100 out of 100.
Registerednursing.org's main goal is to “...promote excellence in nursing by enabling future and current nurses with the education and employment resources they need to succeed.” They determined their rankings by analyzing current and historical NCLEX pass rates. Muskingum received a score of 98.68 out of 100.
Within the past year, Muskingum University enhanced its nursing program with the addition of a second simulation lab and an anatomage table, which is a virtual cadaver. Providing state-of-the-art technology gives students real-world experiences that prepare them for careers in the healthcare industry.
To address the increased occupational demand for nursing, Muskingum offers a traditional Bachelor of Science degree in nursing as well as accelerated BSN and RN to BSN programs.
