Yes, many students work while in the MOT program, but it is demanding. Success depends on strong time management, daily commitment to coursework, and flexibility with scheduling. Some students reduce or adjust work hours during weekend on-campus sessions.
Courses include asynchronous and synchronous components: discussions, mini-lectures, readings, projects, virtual simulations, and group work. The format offers flexibility but requires consistent participation and engagement.
In the first six terms, MOT Weekends are typically scheduled in weeks 3, 6, and 9 of each 10-week term. Friday evenings, Saturday, and sometimes Sunday are used for intensive in-person instruction, labs, and fieldwork activities.
The program aims to place Level II fieldwork within a 90-mile radius of a student’s home when possible. Student demand, site availability, and geography may affect placements. Level I rotations occur across lifespan settings (mental health, pediatric, adult, older adult).
