MIDDLE CHILDHOOD GENERALIST ENDORSEMENT

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

  • This endorsement is for licensed teachers holding a Middle Childhood (4–9) license
  • You may complete the endorsement in one or two content areas (math, science, social studies, or language arts)
  • Coursework is delivered fully online, aligning with your schedule
  • Additional field hours are required to satisfy endorsement standards

By earning the Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement, you’ll be able to:

  • Teach in grades 4–6 in your chosen content area (math, science, social studies, or language arts)
  • Teach a self-contained classroom in grades 4-6 when adding two additional content areas
  • Enhance your mastery in content-specific pedagogy and instructional strategies
  • Be better equipped to serve as a grade-level leader or content coach
  • Build toward completing the full MAE by expanding into additional content licensures

CAREER OUTCOMES

Graduates may move into roles such as:

  • Generalist teacher in upper-elementary / lower-middle school (grades 4–6)
  • Content area specialist or instructional leader in your subject area
