REQUIRED PREREQUISITE COURSES
Applicants must complete the following prerequisite courses prior to acceptance into the ABSN program track. Science courses denoted with a (^) must have been completed within the past ten (10) years to be considered for acceptance into the program. Courses denoted with a (*) must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” or better. Transfer credit will be considered for all courses listed.
Science courses that include a laboratory component may be accepted as three (3) or four (4) credit hours. Applicants must provide documentation verifying completion of the laboratory component (e.g., official transcript or course syllabus).
The ABSN Coordinator and/or Program Director reserve the right to review and approve prerequisite coursework and may grant exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
Required prerequisite courses include:
- Anatomy & Physiology I (with lab) – 3–4 credits ^*
- Anatomy & Physiology II (with lab) – 3–4 credits ^*
- General Chemistry (with lab) – 3–4 credits ^*
- Microbiology (with lab) – 3–4 credits ^*
- Nutrition – 3 credits *
- Statistics – 3 credits
