Bio

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Daniel Strychacz (stree-cash) received his BA in Music from Occidental College, and his MM and DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) from the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles. He completed research emphases in Musicology, Sacred Music, and Vocology—a discipline that pairs vocal pedagogy with voice science, combining artistic teaching practices with scientific studies of physiology and musical acoustics. His primary research is in bringing vocology studies into the realm of choral pedagogy.

Daniel has worked in California and Texas, teaching at universities and for nonprofit choral education organizations. He is thrilled to join the faculty at Muskingum! Daniel lives in Zanesville with his wife, adorable one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and two dogs.
