Research Week Showcases Student Scholarly Work

Student scholarly work from across the academic programs was highlighted during Muskingum University’s annual Research Week.

On April 15, the James R. Bradford Colloquium featured senior capstone presentations by members of the Class of 2024. Nine student speakers selected by the faculty represented biology, chemistry, communication, media and theatre, exercise science, global studies, history, molecular biology, neuroscience, and sociology.

The Homer A. Anderson Lecture and the accompanying student Poster Presentation were held on April 18.

Laudations

Laudations is an online collection spotlighting the professional contributions faculty and staff make to their respective disciplines.

History

Professor of History Laura Hilton will be a Research Fellow at the Center for the Advancement of Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum during July 2024. She will be presenting her research on Displaced Persons, Screening, and Nazi Collaborators at the USHMM International Research Workshop, “The US Military and the Holocaust.”

Students Celebrate Spring

Muskingum University students celebrated Spring on campus with Greek Week, Prelooza Festival, and Muskie Palooza events.

The annual Greek Week was held April 7-13, 2024, kicking off with Delta’s annual 5K Color Run. Competitions included Banner Decorating, Card Night, Cornhole, Greek Sing, Philanthropy, Spikeball, Trivia, and Volleyball. Phi Kappa Tau was the overall winning fraternity and Chi Alpha Nu was the overall winning sorority. Ulster and Delta Gamma Theta took first in Philanthropy, which was an ongoing pop tab collection.
