Muskingum University presented its 2024 Christmas Festival on Friday, December 6, in Brown Chapel.

The festival featured The Light of Hope Returning, a Solstice “folk oratorio” by Shawn Kirchner. The oratorio was performed by Muskingum’s Concert Choir and Chamber Ensemble, and included inspirational readings.

Muskingum University’s Fall 2024 drama production “Anna, Mitya, and Lady Cheesecake Sparkleskirt,” brought an immersive theatre experience to campus.

The production, based on Anton Chekhov’s “Lady with the Little Dog,” featured three performances from Oct. 24-27 in Brown Chapel.

Muskingum University alumni from across the decades and the nation returned to campus for the 102^nd Homecoming Celebration on Oct. 18-20, 2024.

Muskie generations in attendance spanned 67 years, from Charlie Gratz of the Class of 1957 to multiple members of the Class of 2024.

Muskingum University recently launched the High Impact Experiences Grant program, designed to help students access applied learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Muskingum University was awarded over $1.4 million for a Workforce Opportunity for a Rural Communities Initiative grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.

The WORC Initiative funds projects that promote economic mobility, address historic inequities for marginalized individuals and regions, and enable workers to access opportunity in their communities in the Appalachia, Delta and Northern Border regions. The University was one of 15 Appalachian Regional Commission recipients.

Academic and athletic accolades were recently awarded to Muskingum University student-athletes from conference and national sports associations.

Congratulations and Go Muskies!

Artist Jim Yellowhawk, of the Black Hills of South Dakota, presented a traditional male Lakota dance performance on Oct. 17 in Muskingum University’s Thompson Theatre.

The performance was held in conjunction with the art exhibition Connections and Harmony: Contemporary Lakota-Iroquois and Diné Perspectives which was on display in the Palmer Gallery from Oct. 16 through Nov. 6, 2024.

Muskingum University’s Fall Student Scholarship Forum showcased student experiential learning in research, internships, and other scholarly activities conducted during the summer and fall of 2024.

The Forum was held on Thursday, Oct. 17 in Boyd Science Center, with the students presenting posters describing their achievements and how these experiences enhanced their education at Muskingum.
