You can complete your MSN through a full-time 2-year or part-time 3-year pathway, depending on your schedule and professional commitments. Both options follow the same curriculum and lead to the same degree—just at a pace that works for you.
Courses are offered during the academic year, which means you’ll have summers off. It’s a built-in break that gives you time to recharge, stay focused on your work, and come back ready for what’s next.

NURS 701 — Research & Evidence-Based Nursing Practice (3 cr)
Intermediate research methods, applied statistics, literature synthesis, and evidence-based scholarship in nursing. Includes literature search methods, critiques and synthesis of evidence related to clinical nursing problems.
NURS 702 — Advanced Pathophysiology, Pharmacology & Physical Assessment (3 cr)
Key concepts of human pathophysiology, physical assessment, and pharmacology across the lifespan with consideration for diverse populations. Evidence-based treatment and health-promotion practices.
NURS 703 — Healthcare Issues & Trends in Communities, Families & Individuals (3 cr)
Health risks and disease prevention strategies in communities, families, and individuals. High-risk populations explored using health risk appraisal methods and evidence-based strategies. Review of local, state, and federal resources.
NURS 704 — Healthcare Management Information Systems (2 cr)
Using data and information technology effectively to improve performance in healthcare organizations, including databases, analytical tools, and legal and ethical issues in healthcare information management.
NURS 705 — Healthcare Economics & Finance (2 cr)
Economics of the healthcare industry with a focus on differences between non-profit, for-profit, and government-funded programs. Healthcare financial management and cost-containment strategies.
EDUC 574 — Foundations of Adult Learning (3 cr)
An introduction to adult learning through the lens of andragogy and the pioneering work of Malcolm Knowles. Examines motivation for learning, technology in adult learning, and facilitation strategies that align with adult preferences.
EDUC 575 — Instructional Strategies for Adult Learners (3 cr)
Evidence-based instructional methods and facilitation strategies aligned with adult learning preferences and environments. Prepares graduates to design and deliver effective instruction in healthcare and academic settings.
EDUC 576 — Designing Programs for Adult Education (3 cr)
Principles of curriculum design, program planning, assessment, and evaluation for adult education and professional development contexts. Prepares graduates to design, implement, and evaluate nursing education programs.
MOLP 781 — Leadership Literacy: Applying Theory to Practice (3 cr)
Grounded in theories and models of applied leadership. Examines the leadership process, leader-follower dynamics, cultural values and norms, and ethical implications. Focus on translating leadership concepts to real-world application.
MOLP 784 — Ethics, Law & Professional Practice (3 cr)
Ethical leadership as the process of using ethical theories to make sound decisions and bring about positive organizational change. Examines ethical implications of leadership approaches and builds capacity to create organizational policies.
MOLP 786 — Systems & Design Thinking (3 cr)
Decision-making in complex, uncertain environments. Systems thinking frameworks for analyzing wicked problems in healthcare organizations. Develops skills to analyze complex problems, formulate well-reasoned arguments, and evaluate evidence.
You’ll complete two capstone internships:
Both are completed in your local community, allowing you to stay in your current role while gaining new experience.
NURS 706 — Nursing Education Internship (Capstone) (2 cr)
Graduate capstone experience focused on nursing education in a healthcare organization or college/university, under the direction of a master’s or doctoral-prepared nurse educator. Students complete 150 hours of internship experience and an evidence-based substantive change project. Prerequisite: completion of all didactic courses.
INTERNSHIP NOTE: Both internship experiences are completed in your local community, allowing you to stay in your current role while completing your degree. Students complete 300 combined hours across both capstone internships.
Graduate capstone experience focused on nursing leadership in a healthcare organization, under the direction of a master’s or doctoral-prepared nurse leader. Students complete 150 hours of internship experience and an evidence-based performance improvement project. Prerequisite: completion of all didactic courses.
