Muskingum University held its Convocation on August 27, featuring an address by 1995 alumnus Prashant Gupta.

In his address, Mr. Gupta told the students, “Never again will you be in a place with so much diversity.  The next four years will be among the richest of your lives.  There are more possibilities here than you can imagine.  Take advantage of as many of them as you can.”

Mr. Gupta is the chief financial officer of LAMB Partners, a Forbes 400 family enterprise, and partner and chief financial officer of DSC Quantitative Group, a privately-held financial services firm providing quantitative alternative investments solutions to institutions, investment advisors, family enterprises and individuals. He oversees all investment, accounting, and taxation matters for both Chicago-based entities.

Previously, Mr. Gupta was a senior manager with Ernst & Young, where he specialized in hedge funds, mutual funds and broker-deals, including serving in an international jurisdiction and overseeing more than 100 hedge funds, varying in size from start-ups to multi-billion dollar funds.

Mr. Gupta earned his bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude from Muskingum, with majors in economics, accounting, and German, and a minor in computer science.  His name is inscribed on the university’s Montgomery Hall honor roll plaques, in recognition of his achieving top five percent class standing in each of his four years at Muskingum.  He earned his master of science degree in accounting from the University of Virginia.

He and his wife, Jennifer Pingledis, a 1996 Muskingum alumna, reside in Wilmette, Illinois.  They are the parents of Elainia, Erenia, Mira, and Nikhil.
