Muskingum University’s 101st Homecoming celebration will be held on October 13-15, 2023. The full weekend of events offers multiple opportunities for reconnecting and reminiscing with fellow Muskies.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with the President’s Luncheon for the 50th Reunion Class of 1973.
Flashback Friday explores events on campus and around the world from 1969-1973, presented by current students Emma Cepek ’24, Cynthia Edmonds ’25, and Holly Martin ’26, under the direction of Professor of History and Miriam G. Schwartz Faculty Scholar Laura Hilton.
Panels featuring the Emerging Alumni Award Recipients and the Distinguished Service Award Recipients round out Friday afternoon. This year's honorees are Emerging Alumni Award winners Jillian Von Gunten ’09, Justin Kume ’06, Michael Klamo ’15, and Taylor Loos-Little ’16 and Distinguished Service Award winners James McDonald ’73, John Fisher ’76, and Dr. Debra Clausing Sudan ’86.
A Student-Alumni Networking Reception and an All-Alumni Welcome Reception precede the Alumni Awards Banquet. The traditional Collage Concert follows in Brown Chapel.
Saturday’s events include the Muskingum and Heritage Societies Reception, the Presidential Update by President Sue Hasseler, the All-Reunion Class Luncheon or All Alumni Picnic Lunch, the Women’s Soccer Game, Greek Open Houses, Reunion Class Gatherings, the Ulster Club’s 75th Anniversary Celebration, and more! You can dust off your musical instrument, attend an Alumni Band rehearsal and play at the evening’s football game.
An open house Reception Honoring Coach Jim Burson ’63 celebrates the impact of his 38-year coaching and teaching career and the PLUS Program 40th Anniversary Celebration commemorates four decades of transformative education.
Enjoy a pre-game tailgate on the East Lawn, and then cheer on the Fighting Muskies as they take on Baldwin Wallace in the 101st Homecoming Football Game at the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
Wrap up your weekend on Sunday with the Student/Alumni Chapel Service and Farewell Brunch.
