Baccalaureate brings campus together to celebrate graduates
Hope Worstell

Muskingum University held its Baccalaureate service May 11 to celebrate the class of 2019. Rev. Anne Weirich, pastor of College Drive Presbyterian Church, shared reflections with the graduating class, family members and friends.

Her sermon, “Choosing the Extraordinary,” encouraged the graduating class to “go out into the world, not leaving this place behind, but taking it with you to transform the whole world.”

Rev. Weirich has been instrumental in leading multiple community outreach efforts, including expanding the College Drive Food Pantry and establishing a community garden, clothing bank and the Load of Love laundry ministry.

Graduate Hope Worstell gave the student reflection. In her “Living the Dream” message, she urged her classmates to “live through every moment of our story no matter the unexpected twist and turns, and go confidently in the direction of your dreams.”

Ms. Worstell, Kayla Wilkerson ’19, Asa Kline ’19, and President Susan Hasseler provided prayers. The Muskingum University Concert Choir soloist during the song “Ute Sundance” was Elizabeth Files ’19.

Orbit Media’s video of the service can be viewed at the organization’s YouTube page.
