Edmund J. Romito III to Provide Muskingum University’s Graduate Commencement Keynote Address

Muskingum University’s 30th Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be taking place on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Anne C. Steele Center. Edmund J. Romito III (‘11G) will be providing the keynote address.

Romito has led a distinguished 37-year career in healthcare leadership and healthcare information management. In early 2022, he was named the Chief Transformation Officer of Genesis Healthcare System after serving since 2009 as the system’s Chief Information Officer. He joined Genesis in 1995, serving as the Director of Information Systems, Healthcare Information Management, and Biomedical Engineering.

His current responsibilities include leadership and management of the Digital Transformation, Population Health/Value Based Care, Information Technology, Clinical Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Telecommunications functions across the enterprise. He builds and leads high-performing staff teams whose work has resulted in Genesis being named a national “Top 100 Places to Work in IT” eight times and a “Most Wired Hospital” five times.

Romito earned his Muskingum Master of Information Strategy, Systems and Technology degree in 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University and multiple professional certifications in healthcare information management.

The 30th Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be honoring individuals earning Master of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Business Information Systems, and Master of Occupational Therapy. This will be the first in-person graduate commencement for Muskingum since 2019.
