Celebration of Excellence Ceremony Honors Student Achievements

Muskingum University’s Celebration of Excellence ceremony was held on April 5, 2019, at the start of the University’s annual Parents Weekend.

The Celebration of Excellence ceremony honored undergraduate students who earned the following recognitions:
•    Leadership Awards
•    Academic Department Awards
•    Selection to the Muskie Fellows summer research program
•    Induction into Phi Kappa Phi national all-discipline honor society, Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honorary society, and Lambda Sigma sophomore class honorary society
•    President’s List (full-time students earning a 3.90 or greater GPA)
•    Dean’s List (full-time students earning a 3.60 to 3.89 GPA)
•    Academic Merit List (part-time students earning a 3.60 or above GPA)

Three student organizations were honored for achieving top combined GPAs: Women’s Softball varsity athletic team, Theta Phi Alpha women’s club, and Phi Mu Alpha men’s club.

The ceremony’s keynote address was given by Associate Professor of Philosophy Dr. Rob Sharp, the 2018-2019 recipient of Muskingum’s highest teaching honor, the William Oxley Thompson Award.
