Muskingum’s 87th Annual Scholarship Recognition Day was held on Friday, April 6, 2018. The ceremony celebrated outstanding undergraduate academic accomplishments.

Students were recognized for achievements including University Distinguished Scholar Awards, departmental Special Awards, Dean’s List honors, the Muskie Fellows program, and election to academic honorary societies such as Omicron Delta Kappa, Lambda Sigma, and Phi Kappa Phi.

This year’s keynote presentation was delivered jointly by senior Andrea Del Signore and Professor of Theatre Dr. Diane Rao.

Ariana Del Signore, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, is majoring in English and minoring in History and Theatre. She has participated in six Muskingum theatre productions, serves as the editor of the First Circle literary magazine, and received a Distinguished Scholar Award.

Dr. Rao is the 2017-18 recipient of Muskingum’s highest teaching honor, the William Oxley Thompson Award, named for Muskingum’s Class of 1878 graduate who served for nearly three decades as President of The Ohio State University. Dr. Rao has been a member of the faculty since 1995 and directs many of the University’s theatre performances.
