Student Life: Staying Engaged

Muskingum University’s Student Affairs staff is helping students stay engaged virtually with Greek Life, student organizations, clubs, and other out-of-the-classroom activities that are such an important part of the Muskie experience.

For example, the Muskingum Programming Board is creating Muskie-themed digital content that students can interact with, such as a bingo board and scavenger hunt.

Regular virtual meetings are taking place with the Presidents of the Greek chapters, and a Greek senior recognition event is planned through social media, which will spotlight the Class of 2020 members of a different chapter each week.

Nominations for the 2020 Magnus Leadership Awards, which recognize the yearlong leadership efforts of students and their organizations are underway and plans to recognize the awardees virtually are being developed.

Staff advisors of multiple student organizations and clubs are connecting regularly with groups of members through video conferencing such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Facetime to help recreate virtually the social environment and connections the groups enjoy on campus.
