Muskingum Nursing Celebrates Outstanding NCLEX Success Across Accelerated BSN and Traditional BSN Programs

The Accelerated BSN program has maintained a 100% first-time NCLEX pass rate for four consecutive years. Designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree in another field, the 15-month program prepares students to transition quickly and confidently into professional nursing roles.

The traditional undergraduate BSN program has earned a 100% first-time NCLEX pass rate in seven of the last ten years, including consecutive 100% pass rates in the two most recent years. In 2026, the program was ranked second in the State of Ohio out of 92 programs by RegisteredNursing.org, a recognition that reflects strong outcomes, affordability, clinical partnerships, laboratory resources, and student support.

“These results speak to the dedication of our students and the strength of our faculty,” said Dr. Joe Shaeffer, Director of Nursing Programs. “Through small class sizes, hands-on clinical experiences, and close mentorship, our graduates develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed as modern healthcare professionals.”

Students in both pathways complete rigorous coursework supported by on-campus laboratory training and immersive clinical practicums in leading healthcare settings. The result is graduates who are not only successful on licensure exams, but fully prepared to serve patients and communities from their first day on the job.

At a time when healthcare systems continue to face nursing shortages, Muskingum’s newest registered nurses are entering the workforce ready to make an immediate and meaningful difference.

The University proudly congratulates its nursing graduates, faculty, and clinical partners on this outstanding achievement.
