Science News: Muskingum Receives $10,000 Chemistry Grant

Muskingum University has received a coveted $10,000 grant for the Chemistry Department from The Pittsburgh Conference, sponsored by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh and the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh.  Both societies are non-profit organizations dedicated to furthering science education.

The University was selected for the 2021 Pittsburgh Conference Memorial National College Grant (PCMNCG) from among more than 50 proposals received for consideration from institutions across the country.

The grant will be used to fund the purchase of a UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, which will support undergraduate student learning throughout the chemistry curriculum.   

The grant was authored by Dr. Lois Zook-Gerdau, Professor of Chemistry.
