Student-Faculty Research
Student-faculty research provides unique opportunities for students to participate in research projects with faculty in their area of expertise. Students interested in research should ask faculty members about their area of interest and potential opportunities for students to get involved. Many academic departments also offer course credit for research participation.
One special research opportunity for students is Muskingum University's Summer Fellows Program, known on campus as "Muskie Fellows." Sponsoring faculty submit a proposal to the Academic Affairs office and nominate students to be their collaborative research assistants. If selected to participate, students receive free on-campus housing for the summer, plus a stipend for their contribution to the project. Summer Muskie Fellows opportunities are open to all undergraduate majors, and students may be eligible as early as the summer after their first year at Muskingum.
