WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A MIDDLE CHILDHOOD LICENSE?

With a Middle Childhood License for grades 4–9, you will be prepared to:

• Teach in upper-elementary and middle school classrooms while specializing in two content areas
• Design instruction that meets the developmental and academic needs of early adolescents
• Support reading, inquiry, communication, and problem-solving across subject areas
• Create responsive learning environments that encourage collaboration, confidence, and curiosity
• Work closely with families, colleagues, and school teams to promote student growth during this pivotal stage of learning

CAREER OUTCOMES & ROLES

Graduates of this licensure track may pursue roles such as:

• Middle Childhood teacher in grades 4–9 for your chosen content specializations
• Upper-elementary general education teacher
• Middle school team teacher or interdisciplinary instructor
• Reading, STEM, or academic support provider
• Leader or advisor for middle level clubs, activities, and enrichment programs
