Muskingum University celebrated the many accomplishments of the class of 2020 during the Recognition of December Graduates Ceremony on Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony, which streamed live from the Colloquium in the Roberta A. Smith library on YouTube and Facebook featured remarks from President Hasseler, Student Senate President Maysen Moorehead, and Chaplain Julia Wright. The event, which was truly a campus-wide effort, also included music and vocals from the Music Department, visuals and aerial footage from the Marketing Department, support and student and family outreach from Academic Affairs, along with congratulatory videos from Provost Nancy Evangelista and Muskingum faculty and staff.

The dynamic, multimedia event was designed to mimic an in-person celebration with personalized slides of every graduate that included photo and a quote (if applicable) that was shown as a slide show with traditional music in the background. Additionally, videos from family and friends to honor their graduate were added to the ceremony and featured on social media.

“This graduating class endured a challenging, memorable, and historic few months to achieve a goal you’ve been working towards since stepping onto campus” Provost Evangelista said. “While we had hoped to see each of you cross the stage in person, we virtually celebrated with you and will continue to celebrate each of you as you make your mark in the world.”

Congratulations December Grads!
