Muskingum Forensics Places 4th Overall in Tournament

The Muskingum University Forensics Team placed fourth in Team Sweepstakes in the November 6 Ohio Forensics Association “Heart of It All” virtual synchronous live forensics tournament.

Three students also won individual awards in the tournament:

  • Political Science major Hope Craft ’24 won first place in Informative Speaking, second place in Top Novice Debate Speaker, and third place as Top Novice Overall.
  • Organizational Communication and Sociology major Ethan Ford ’23 won second place in Poetry Interpretation.
  • Nursing major Taylor Blakeman ’24 won fourth place in Dramatic Interpretation.

Muskingum University hosted this year’s tournament, with ten faculty members serving as judges evaluating students from twelve universities in three time zones across the country.

Earlier this semester, Special Education and Education major Alyssa Taylor ’23 placed first in Virtual Public Narrative in the Cyber Falcon asynchronous recorded competition hosted by Bowling Green State University.

Assistant Professor of Communication Rachel Pollock directs the forensics program.
