Engineering Major Reimagined for Continued Growth and Success
Engineering

Muskingum’s engineering program was reimagined to target prospective students’ interests. Students can now choose from three tracks — Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or General Engineering.

The Engineering major combines innovative coursework, real-world projects, and career-focused learning to prepare students for success in high-demand fields. The program goes beyond textbooks. Students learn in newly-equipped labs, collaborate with faculty mentors and industry professionals, and gain the skills employers need most — from advanced design and manufacturing to systems analysis and sustainability.

Through grant-funded support, students have access to new equipment including robotics/automation, materials testing, advanced manufacturing, energy conversation, systems design software, and simulation software.

Other unique features of the program include required internships and other work-related experiences, built-in career planning, and preparation for the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, which seniors are required to take.

With a 100% job placement rate after graduation, Muskingum’s engineering program not only prepares students for success but also helps meet labor market demand.
