Muskingum University just launched master’s and doctorate degrees in Applied Leadership that are available for Fall 2023 semester.

The two programs, recently approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission, are 100 percent online. The Doctor of Applied Leadership is the University’s first doctoral degree program.

“I am excited to continue Muskingum University’s tradition of offering programs that are geared towards the needs of today’s business and industry,” said President Sue Hasseler. “These two programs not only add to our robust, online graduate degree programs, but also provide an opportunity for individuals looking to become effective leaders in their industry.”

The Master of Applied Leadership and Doctor of Applied Leadership programs focus specifically on relevance by using evidence-based research and practice to solve real-world problems. The practical intention of the programs is reinforced throughout the curriculum so students can immediately apply what they are learning to their organizations and careers.

“While there may be other leadership programs out there, few applied leadership programs exist. This is what makes Muskingum’s program unique in higher education,” said Executive Director of Applied Leadership Dr. Robert McManus. “In short, we do not just want our students to pass a test or write a paper about leadership; we want them to be able to lead effectively.”
