Spring Academic Trips Return
Cleveland Museum of Art Trip

For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, groups of Muskingum University students are traveling with faculty, gaining new experiences and new perspectives on their classroom work, and participating in national conferences and competitions.

Dr. Kekoa Kaluhiokalani, Associate Professor of English, led 36 students on a visit to the Cleveland Museum of Art, in Cleveland, Ohio on March 30.

Seven sociology majors attended the North Central Sociological Association Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana from March 31-April 2, with Dr. Michelle Oyakawa, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Dr. Sandra Schroer, Professor of Sociology.

Dr. Arjun Sondhi, Assistant Professor of Economics, took his senior Economics Seminar students to The Fiscal Challenge in Washington, D.C. from April 7-10. The Muskingum team was one of six finalists selected nationally to present and defend their proposal to expert policy analysts. Click to read more about their presentation and The Fiscal Challenge.

Led by Professor of English, Dr. Jane Varley, Muskingum student writers attended the Kestrel Literary Magazine Conference in Fairmont, West Virginia from April 8-10. The mission of Kestrel, a journal of literature and art, is to explore the human condition and bring together contributors and audiences for Kestrel Celebrations that foster appreciation for and inquiry into the humanities.
