Karly Lyons MAT ’07 Chosen as Fulbright Scholar

Muskingum University Master of Arts in Teaching 2007 graduate and Rolling Hills Local School District teacher Karly Lyons has been selected for a prestigious Fulbright fellowship.

She will be traveling to India this summer as part of the “Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms” program.  Of 600 teachers nationwide who applied for the program, less than twelve percent were chosen.  

Ms. Lyons will be part of a Fulbright cohort of twelve teachers who will begin their stay in Delhi before being posted in pairs to more rural areas of India. They will be teaching in multiple schools and sharing best practices for student engagement with local classroom teachers.  

After returning from her trip, Ms. Lyons will complete her Fulbright capstone project by creating a website to promote global education within the Rolling Hills school district and community.

Ms. Lyons holds master’s degrees in special education and physical science. She teaches science special education at Meadowbrook Middle School, general science at Meadowbrook High School, and post-secondary classes at Zane State and Washington State Colleges.
