Muskingum University Associate Professor of Sociology Dr. Sandra Schroer has been selected for the prestigious HERS Leadership Institute, to be held at Bryn Mawr College in Summer 2018.

Through her institute participation, Dr. Schroer will create a campus-wide training program designed to support Muskingum’s initiatives focusing on inclusivity and excellence.

“Dr. Schroer is a superb teacher, with a deep commitment to inclusivity, equity and justice,” said Muskingum University President Susan Hasseler. “The advanced skills she will acquire through her institute training and the development of her leadership project will enable her to make a significant impact on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of our students.”

Dr. Schroer is the Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and serves as the advisor for the University’s minor in Gender Studies. A member of the Muskingum faculty, since 2004, she is the 2016 recipient of Muskingum’s highest faculty honor, the William Oxley Thompson Award for Excellence in Teaching.
