Kaleb Haramy, a 2014 graduate from nearby Zanesville, Ohio, majored in Health Administration and put his degree to work immediately as Manager of the New Concord Family Practice branch of Genesis Healthcare System. He later worked as Chief Operating Officer of Muskingum Behavioral Health in Zanesville.

Haramy and his wife, a fellow Muskie, moved to Columbus for her pursuit of graduate work; they loved the capital city so much that they decided to stay.

Haramy now works as a Claims Generalist Associate for Progressive Insurance. He explains, “In my role at Progressive I manage the auto claims process when someone is in an accident. I handle repairs to vehicles and property, determine liability in auto accidents and make sure that the claims process goes as smoothly as possible for or customers to help them in a very stressful time.” Ultimately, Haramy hopes to work with bodily injury claims so that he can use his healthcare background.

Haramy said that his leadership experiences within his fraternity and his liberal arts background have come up in all of his job interviews, and are always viewed very positively by potential employers.

Of his choice to attend Muskingum, Haramy says, “I originally didn’t want to consider Muskingum because it was so close to my physical home where I grew up, but Muskingum was the Home I got to choose for myself, and it was the best choice I could have made.”

Haramy advises students who are about to graduate, “Don’t chase salaries and status just yet; there's plenty of time for that. Find a job with great career growth potential with a company or organization you believe in. Your official education may be ending[…], but your real world education starts when you cross that stage, so keep learning!
