Allison Maykuth

Allison Maykuth earned four majors in international affairs, Spanish, French & English. Following her 2011 graduation, the Columbus, Ohio native attended the University of Pittsburgh and earned her Master of Public and International Affairs, with a focus on Security and Intelligence.

Maykuth now works for a financial institution as an Anti-Money Laundering Investigator. Her institution complies with the Office of Foreign Asset Control within the U.S. Treasury Department. During her studies at the University of Pittsburgh, she also held two internships, as a researcher and later in translating media reports.

When Maykuth made her college decision, Muskingum was on her radar because she had family members who had previously attended. She says, “I was […] impressed with the study abroad options and the smaller, more personalized classes. I attribute my success to my professors, who let me take ownership of my educational path while providing nothing but positive feedback and encouragement. My study abroad and research experience also prepared me to excel in graduate school and beyond by introducing me to new cultures and areas of study. Additionally, my time spent living in the language houses was crucial to the development of my foreign language skills, and I have maintained many cross-cultural friendships thanks to those experiences.”
