Minute with a Muskie

Alexis Friesner
Class of 2016
Alexis Friesner

Alexis Friesner chose Muskingum because, coming from a small town, she felt at home on the campus.

Following her graduation in May of 2016, Alexis took a job at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on the Cardiothoracic ICU, which specializes in congenital heart defects, heart transplants and lung transplants.

Friesner says, “I feel that the nursing program did an excellent job at preparing me for my nursing career. My class had 100% passing rate on the NCLEX, so that shows how well they did at preparing us. My clinical experiences also aided in my success on the floor.

Friesner confesses, “I almost did not accept my job in the ICU because I was nervous I would not be able to handle it as a new graduate. If I would’ve let fear stop me from accepting this job I wouldn’t have met the all of the amazing patients, families, and coworkers in the CTICU.”
