Paul Alan Miller, Class of 1962

Paul Alan Miller, born on May 9, 1939, passed away on the 6th of July.

A proud 1957 graduate of New Concord High School, Paul dedicated his life to education, public service, and his community. He earned his bachelor's degree in education from Muskingum College and later completed his master's degree in educational administration from Ohio University.

Paul devoted 33 years to the Cambridge City Schools, where he served as a respected school administrator, mentoring countless students and educators throughout his distinguished career. His passion for education continued well into retirement as he spent 15 years serving as a student teacher supervisor at Muskingum College, helping to prepare future generations of teachers.

Beyond education, Paul was deeply committed to serving his hometown of New Concord. He volunteered with the New Concord Fire Department for 20 years and, in recognition of his dedication and service, was inducted into the New Concord Fire Department Hall of Fame in 2000.

For more than 30 years, Paul was co-owner of Mock Miller Funeral Home, where he compassionately served families during some of life's most difficult moments. He was also an active civic leader, serving as a former member and officer of the New Concord Board of Trade and as a member of the New Concord Lions Club.

Paul will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his community, his integrity, his quiet leadership, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. Whether in the classroom, at the fire station, at the funeral home, or through his civic involvement, he dedicated his life to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Above all, Paul cherished his family. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Marie; his two sons, Ryan and Trent; and his three beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of service, education, compassion, and community that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
